It's one of the programmed films in the Riverside Studios, "DEEP DESIRES & BROKEN DREAMS" film festival in Hammersmith area of London.

the screening is at 6.30PM on SATURDAY the 5th February 2011,

"Seeing Heaven" will have its WORLD PREMIER in the QFest gay lesbian film festival in Philadelphia on the 16th and 17th of July 2010, We are soooo excited about this, Ian Powell our Director will be attending, and i understand that some of the actors will also be there....

Hi All,

Just wanted to update you with the latest from the feaure film "Seeing Heaven". Ian our Director is editing ahead with ever so increasing spead, and has confirmed that he has now cut together a rough cut of the film of 1h and 20min, and at last weeks Wrap party we got to see some of it.

Many thanks Ian for your hard work, and the footage / edit is looking fantastic, well done.

I on the other hand have been busy going through a vast amount of photographs, both Michele Martinoli's photos and also the one i took myself. They are all so fantastic, so the choosing part has been a tricky one. But together with Ian and Lamis input we have managed to narrow it done, and i put together our first initial press package for the film.

A new Gay Drama
A beautiful young escort Paul suffers from trip like dreams he doesn't understand, visions which are shared by his clients, exciting but scaring them. Paul is searching for a twin brother, who he hasn't seen since childhood and hooks up with enigmatic film director John Baxter. Desired by everyone but lost to himself, Paul is persuaded to make an adult film, which will help him discover himself, and in the process find his twin. But the journey he goes on is a dark one, involving dangerous clients, an unscrupulous rival producer and unsafe sex. In discovering his real past, Paul is in Danger of destroying himself.

SEEING HEAVEN SYNOPSIS

"Selling your body doesn't mean selling your soul"
A young, and incredibly beautiful escort Paul, is desired by everyone who comes into contact with him but lost to himself. Paul has a rare gift, apart from his innocent beauty. When he has sex with his clients he experiences incredible visions that put him into a transcendental state. Sometimes his visions are shared by his clients, both exciting and scaring them.
Alive to his senses, Paul’s visions shows him a strange but beautiful World, but there is something much darker bleeding through. Sometimes in his dreams, Paul glimpses his brother Saul, an identical twin, from whom Paul was separated when he was a child. Paul is convinced that Saul, is in trouble, that he has also got into escorting, and that he is being pursued by a dangerous client who can't let go, an enigmatic black coated figure, in a faceless white mask. Paul seems to project all his own fears and desires onto this anonymous figure who is without emotion or personality.
Paul looses himself in sex in order to have these visions and find out more, but every time he goes with a client he looses a little bit of soul. Beaten up by a Client who has seen inside his dreams, Paul is rescued by a barman Zhivago who takes him back to his place and offers to introduce him to enigmatic porn director, John Baxter, one of the regulars at his bar. Paul pulls back from getting too close to Zhivago, trying to keep his distance. Stealing Baxter’s business card, Paul goes to his flat and introduces himself.
Baxter has a strong wish to make a mainstream film that transcends reality. Sensing in Paul that he has found his muse, Baxter agrees to help him find Saul, but only if he will appear in his film. Baxter reasons that if Paul discovers himself through the project, it will help him find his brother. And he asks “Don’t you want to live for ever Paul, like Dorian Gray, on video at least?”
Electing to sleep in the studio where Baxter shoots his films, Paul hears noises from elsewhere in the building and increasingly dreams of the alternative World inhabited by his brother and the man in the mask. The studio is also used as a painting studio by one of Baxter’s other models Griffin, another young escort with whom Paul feels a connection with. Paul discovers a painting that intrigues him, and which he has seen in his dreams. It is a rough interpretation of the story of Narcissus, which shows a boy bewitched by his own beauty but also haunted by a dark figure in the painting’s background.
Attending one of Baxter’s porn parties, Paul is introduced to DeLeon, a sinister producer, working for the studio that finances Baxter’s films. DeLeon also becomes obsessed with Paul, and his “gift”. After trying to persuade Baxter to shoot bareback films, he talks to Paul, encouraging him to shoot without condoms as a way of experiencing a purer vision, and thus seeing more clearly into this other World of his.
Frustrated by his lack of progress in finding his twin, and disturbed by his dreams, Paul goes on a dark journey of drugs and rough, dangerous sex, in an attempt to deaden his senses and fill his soul. But he is getting nearer to the truth.
After dreaming that Griffin has been killed by the man in the mask, posing as a client, Paul is betrayed by the sweetest of Baxter’s models – Carlos, a stunning latino guy - into taking GLB and is tricked into one final porn shoot. Finally Paul will discover his Twin’s true identity and come face to face with the man in the mask.
Inspired by the heightened sensuality of the films of Michael Powell and the red and green hued Gialli of Mario Bava, Seeing Heaven makes a case for the primacy of the body as well as the spirit, but in a context where safer sex is increasingly becoming marginalized and forgotten.

Filming Completed

So Everyone,

Now the filming has been completed, (on Sunday very late), and it has been an amazing experience for all of us involved, Ian and I like to thank everyone for their amazing hard work, and for together with us creating something as truly amazing as what we have achieved so far.

Now the task of editing starts, and that in itself is a task, but such an interesting and artistically stimulating task indeed.

I will upload both Michelle's photos and my own photos taken on set over the next few weeks, as much as possible ofcourse. And we should be able to have a get together for the Cast and Crew the following weekend (Saturday the 5th December 2009 proposed), location tbc.

Will be great to see you all again than.

Hi Everyone,

Its truly amazing, and we are all over the moon happy with the outcome. Fantastic work everyone, amazing crew and actors, well done, and thank you all for your amazingly hard work on set etc.

Hi ALL,

Just to keep you all up to date what is happening etc, i thought i post a quick note to let you know that things are going very well on set indeed.

We had 3 amazing days at the fantastic Barbican flat that we have been able to use, and it went really well, the actors were fantastic, and our Cinematographer and crew are amazingly proffessional and the footage being produced is really of outstanding quality indeed. Director Ian Powell is over the moon happy with the outcome so far, really looking forward to seeing the rest of what to come.

Yesterday we re-located to a cool warehouse where we are shooting this whole week and the footage produced here was really lovely too. Tomorrow is a big day, with all extras arriving on set, will be exciting indeed, wish us luck hehe.

In a few days i will upload loads of exciting photos from set etc, i just haven't had the time to yet, its been very hectic indeed.

Let the shooting comences...

So we are finally here, tomorrow (the 6th Nov 2009) we start filming "Seeing Heaven". We have a tight schedule of 13 shooting days in total (with a few rest days in between), and plan to finish the shoot on the 22nd Nov 2009.

We are all very excited about the film, and the preparations have been hectically ongoing since a while back now. Director Ian and our Cinematographer Alessio has been planning shooting angles and ways to maximise the shooting schedule. I have attached below some of Ian's rough sketches to visualize his vision of how the shots should be composed, it has been a great help.

While in a different department our Production Designer Lamis has been busy preparing to set up the sets, as well as the usual preparations of props and overlooking the wardrobe and key items etc. While her assistants Pedro & Nigel has been running around town to procure some of the props etc. Pedro will also be in charge of the Catering facilities on set, so if you (the actors & crew) have a particular liking for something, who knows, if you sweet-talk him you might be able to get it, hehe.

I myself (Anton) has been busy scheduling and breaking down the scenes of the script per actors, as well as finishing of some paintings and preparing the Tarrot cards with some colour-splashes (see below). I have also been organising the Extras and Models for the party and club scenes, and am hoping for a really exciting time for those shots indeed.

We have also got a wonderful sponsor from the Make up company MAC and they will provide us with free make-up for the cast. We are very grateful for this indeed, thank you.

So best of luck to everyone for tomorrows shoot and for the rest of the shooting dates,

check in often as i will try to update you all with the progress as often as possible,

First Read-Through

Dear All,
Just thought i post some images i took from the Shooting Locations for the film, this one is the large warehouse that we are doing the dream sequences and club / bar scenes in, and also using for the 'studio' space etc.
It's an amazing location, and fantastic lighting possibilities, and play with shadows and texture, it will be truly awesome, hope you like it.

Photoshoot of "Carlos" and "Nick"

Last sunday Anton held a photoshoot with both Gunnar Hojem (playing Nick in the film), and Maximo Salvo (playing Carlos in the film) to create some of the props that uses their image etc. The shoot was fantastic, we walked from Angel down towards a really awesome old warehouse type location where we did some stunning shots of Maximo.

On the way towards the warehouse we crossed the Canal and took some great shots of Gunnar too, and Ian Powell looked very happy indeed as you can see from the photo below.

Pre-Production in full process

The full Pre-Production of the film "Seeing Heaven" is now well and truly in process.

Yesterday Lamis Bayar, our fantastic Tunisian Production Designer created (together with some assistance from Creative Producer Anton Z Risan (Swedish / Croatian) the white mask, to great success. Ian Powell our great Director was borrowing his face for the casting process, and the result was really cool indeed. (For you curious out there, he is doing 'a Hitchcock moment' and appearing as a mask in the film himself.)
